Currently the unit is not actively planning any immersive events due to diminished participation.

No immersive events scheduled.
Our events are focused primarily on experiencing life as a member of the California Volunteers. Specific scenarios are generally not revealed to the participants ahead of time so that participants are forced to function in a realistic manner. Even the military leadership is simply given a set of orders and must make decisions on how respond to any situations that present themselves during the event. The rich history of the Southwest provides us a wide variety of possible encounters that include things like marches; patrols; garrison settings; fatigue details; martial law enforcement situations; mapping expeditions; as well as friendly or hostile encounters with native Americans, civilians, Southern sympathizers, deserters, etc. In short, participating soldiers should be prepared to conduct themselves in the same manner as was expected of the original members of the California Volunteers.
While many of our events are generally not open to the public, we do have provisions for members to invite guests and members of other units to participate in our events with us. Additionally, many of the scenarios at our events also provide opportunities for participation by citizens, refugees, Native Americans, Southern sympathizers, deserters, miners, etc. If you are interested in participating in any way please contact us for more information.
